Positioning and messaging for B2B SaaS

Your company has changed.
Your buyers don’t know it yet

I work with B2B SaaS leadership teams to decide what their company should be known for next and why buyers should choose them. Then I carry that story into the website and sales pitch their teams actually use.

01 / The problem

01 / The problem

You’ve outgrown your story.

You found product-market fit. Then the business changed.

One product grew into a platform

Buyers still know you for doing one thing.

You started moving upmarket

Your pitch still speaks to the buyers you started with, not the ones you need next.

The market shifted

Buyers are asking new questions. Your story is still answering the old ones.

Buyers put you in the wrong box.

Buyers put you in the wrong box.

They know what your product does. But if they know you as the earlier, narrower version of your company, that’s the version they’ll compare, budget for, and buy. You get compared to smaller tools, priced like them, and left out of decisions you should be part of.

You won’t get a strategy deck and a handoff.

I stay with your team from the first positioning decision until the story shows up where buyers actually see it: on your website and in your sales calls. Every engagement is one defined project, in three stages.

Decide your position

I study your customers, product, market, and competition. Then I work with your highly opinionated leadership team to decide which buyers to prioritize, which problems matter most to them, what they’d choose instead of you, and what value you can credibly own.

Craft the story

I turn those decisions into a strategic narrative that ties your value to what buyers need to solve now, plus a messaging framework that leadership, marketing, and sales all work from.

Take it to market

I carry the positioning decisions into your homepage copy, sales story, and first-call deck, so the story leadership agrees on is the one buyers actually hear.

What this looks like in practice

What this looks like in practice

Vertical software

Product

Platform

A vertical software company had grown beyond the product buyers knew it for. The strategic decision was to lead with the larger business problem its platform solves, rather than the product it started with. We built that positioning into the homepage and first-call deck.

Data infrastructure

Data connectivity

Trusted AI

A data infrastructure company had a growing role in enterprise AI, but its story was still anchored in connectivity. We repositioned the company around what its technology makes possible: AI that works with trusted business data. Then we carried that positioning into its core messaging and website.

Elvis Greer

“Does it give buyers a reason to choose you, or just a better description of what you do?”

I specialize in the moment the business outgrows the story.

I’m Elvis Greer. I help companies change what buyers believe about them. Before product marketing, I spent nine years in sales. That experience shaped the test I bring to every story: does it give buyers a reason to choose you, or just a better description of what you do?

At Klaviyo, I worked with executives to reposition the company from marketing automation to B2C CRM. I launched Salesforce Essentials and Tanium’s first SaaS product. At a Series A startup, I partnered directly with the co-founder on a repositioning that contributed to double-digit revenue growth and higher win rates.

I’ve also brought stories to market at scale, from launching Hulu Plus on Apple TV to running activations and keynotes at six Dreamforce events. I know what it takes to carry a story from the strategy meeting to a real audience.
